Volcanic Meteor Shower

(Lentil Soup w/ Sausage)

What you'll need

  • 5 Gallon Pot (T95 Engine compressor will work)

  • 1 Frying Pan

  • Heating source.

  • 16-ounces Lentils

  • 2 x 28-ounce cans Diced Tomatoes

  • 64oz Unsalted Vegetable Broth

  • 32 ounces water

  • Salt

  • Black Pepper

  • Red Pepper Flakes

  • 1/2 CUP Olive Oil

  • 2 TABLESPOONS Minced Garlic

  • 1 TABLESPOON Curry Powder

  • 1 TABLESPOON Ground Cumin

  • 1 teaspoon Thyme

  • 3 Medium Onions Chopped up

  • 1 LB Carrots (shredded or chopped)

  • 2 LBS Mild Italian Sausage

    • Cut into 1-inch sections

    • PRO TIP: BROWN the sausages FIRST and THEN CUT

    • You can Also Use Sausage "Crumbles"

What to do


  1. OPEN all cans of DICED TOMATOES


  3. MEASURE OUT the curry, cumin, and thyme into/onto a small bowl/plate


  1. Add Vegetable Broth

  2. Add Water

  3. Add Lentils to POT

  4. Add Tomatoes to POT

  5. Begin Heating POT using Medium-High Heat


  1. Add oil

  2. Begin heating PAN over Medium-High heat

  3. Add garlic

  4. Add onion

  5. Add carrots

  6. Stir often

  7. Cook Until Onion is translucent/soft about 5 minutes

  8. Add the CURRY, CUMIN, and THYME mixture

  9. Stir often

  10. Cook another 30 seconds until fragrant

(PAN -> POT)

  1. Add contents of PAN to POT careful not to splash!

  2. Add 2 teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes to POT

  3. Add Black Pepper Generously to POT

  4. Brown sausage in PAN

  5. Add sausage to POT careful not to splash

    1. DON't FORGET:

    2. Turn off the heat for PAN.

    3. Remove PAN from heat.

  6. Stir POT until well mixed

  7. Bring POT to boil over High Heat

  8. Reduce the heat of POT To Medium- Low

  9. Partially cover POT

  10. STIR every 15 minutes to prevent sticking

  11. Simmer for 1 hour

  12. Serve


About 10 Bowls.

VEGAN STYLE: For the vegan version of the soup, simply do not add sausage.


While POT is cooking:

Place uncooked sausages on aluminum foil on baking sheet.

Place in oven

set oven to 400

Once the oven is preheated cook for 15 minutes

Cut sausages

Add to POT
